The whole thing fits in RPi 3 perfectly. You really have to get it right in a couple of tries, I first installed some faces inside out and thought that the product wasn't built well, since it hid some ports. But be assured, it's built to be a perfect fit, see my images. The cover itself doesn't feel fragile, it's fine for everyday use, ofcourse if you aren't tossing around your Pi! The fan is calm & works well. Only time I could hear it running was a dead silent winter's night. If you don't want translucent touch for the cover, the film can be removed easily to expose the transparent part.
